Instead of just a tub, why not install a shower with a tub? That way, you get the best of both worlds! 

Don’t forget about the showerhead! A handheld showerhead is great at any age. 

You also may want to strategically place grab bars to avoid slips and falls. 

Themes

Kids’ themes are fun, especially if it’s their favorite character, but we do not recommend buying permanent theme fixtures. If you really want to incorporate a theme in your child’s bathroom, we suggest buying easily replaceable things such as:

• floor mats
• towels
• toilet seats
• wall stickers

Speaking of toilet seats… we all know potty training is an essential part of a kid’s bathroom. So consider getting a toilet seat brand that offers a child-sized seat that you’ll then be able to easily replace once they grow older. 

Features

Although they might not be using them while they’re little, they’ll want to have some space to store their daily products once they become teens. We recommend having shelves, cabinets, or drawers. 

When thinking about bathroom features, door locks are always an important thing to think about. You’ll want to be sure to get a doorknob that can’t be locked from inside for younger children. You’ll easily be able to change this feature as your child grows. 

How tall should your vanity be? You’ll want to make sure it’s not too tall. Try and make the height efficient for your kid’s stool phase.
